Great Cycle Challenge – Sienna Scoop Cruisers
June 1 - June 30
This June, Sienna Scoop Cruisers is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge for the 3rd year to fight kids’ cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So we are raising funds through our challenge to help these kids and support Children’s Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support us by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives. Our team page: greatcyclechallenge.com/Teams/SiennaScoopCruisers
This year we are riding in honor of Kaylee T (a Sienna resident): Kaylee is a beautiful, smart, spunky and STRONG 9-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with stage IIIA2 Ovarian Cancer. She is currently undergoing her 2nd of 4 rounds of chemotherapy. Instead of finishing out her school year, she will be in and out of the hospital. This hasn’t gotten Kaylee down. When I say she is strong, I mean she is STRONG! Her motto… “When life hits you, track the weather”! She wants to be a Meteorologist when she grows up. Her role models are Jim Cantore and Travis Herzog. Not only does Kaylee love weather, but she is also a fantastic ice skater! She loves the group BTS! She likes the leader RM and the main dancer JHope. She loves Pusheen the cat and Pugs.
About the Great Cycle Challenge:
Great Cycle Challenge started in 2015, and after just 4 years, the event has grown to become one of the biggest cycling events in the United States.
People of all ages, abilities and from every state across the country set themselves a personal riding goal and challenge themselves to pedal throughout June to fight kids’ cancer.
In 4 years, our community of riders from all 50 states have ridden a total of 12,205,253 miles, and together we’ve raised $16,070,740 in support of research to develop better treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Why? Because over 15,700 American children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and sadly, 38 children die every week.
We’re riding to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve, and we believe that any one individual can make their personal impact to fight cancer and save little lives…
Great Cycle Challenge USA is a national Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) fundraising initiative held throughout June.
