Melissa Bracikowski
There is never a dull moment in the Bracikowski house. Between my two daughters Lilyann and Roslyn (5 & 2), my husband Michael, our dog Archer, 5 fish, 6 chickens, and 7 guinea hens, life is busy, loud, and greatly blessed.
I am a Virginia girl living and embracing Texas life!
I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Lynchburg College, met my husband at a bar, moved to Florida, had my first daughter, moved to Texas, and welcomed our second daughter—all leading to this chapter in my life of being a stay at home mom.
When we moved to Texas, my husband wanted me to find a home that needed some work, something that we could “re-do” mostly ourselves. We found that house and then some! DIY has always been something that my husband and I enjoy doing together—even with the blood, sweat, and swearing.
I am one of “those moms” that makes all the decorations for birthday parties and gatherings at our house—but in my defense, crafting is synonymous with relaxing. Being a stay at home mom is a grueling task and if you aren’t careful it can swallow you whole! That’s why I always try to make time to hang out with my girlfriends, but also why I always try to have some sort of project in the works—whether it be planning for a birthday party or refinishing a piece of furniture.
