Family Night and Lunches of Love Food Drive was a Success!
Our first Sienna Scoop pop-up was a huge success! We were so excited to team up with Chick-fil-a Sienna Crossing for their first family night and our first pop-up. The night was very festive starting with lines forming full of excited kids promptly at 7 pm to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus followed by pictures with two live reindeer – Dasher and Blitzen. The kids and parents were so thrilled to see, pet, and take pictures with live reindeer.
Additionally, if you brought in a food donation for Lunches of Love, Chick-fil-a Sienna Crossing gave out FREE CFA sandwiches or nuggets. We had an AMAZING turnout and collected over 300 food items to donate and had over 100 lunch bags decorated for Lunches of Love.
We plan to do more pop-ups in 2019 in an effort to help end childhood hunger and support the Lunches of Love organization. Stay tuned.
We want to thank Chick-fil-a Sienna Crossing for allowing us to be a part of their first family night and donating a free entree to those who graciously donated food for Lunches of Love. The owners and staff at Chick-fil-a Sienna Crossing are just awesome and love to serve our community. If you enjoyed this event, make sure to check the community calendar for other fun events at CFA.
Thanks to Lainie Maroulis with Lainie’s Lens Photography for taking our photos for family night with Santa. Lainie is an aspiring photographer capturing senior and family portraits, sports and action shots, and nature photography.

Lastly, we want to THANK YOU – our AMAZING COMMUNITY, for coming out and donating food and coloring lunch bags for children in need right here in Fort Bend County. Your generosity goes a long way and for that, I am truly appreciative.
About Lunches of Love
Lunches of Love is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, committed to helping end childhood hunger in Fort Bend County by providing a free nutritious sack lunch during extended school holidays and weekends.
Did You Know?
LoL serves nutritious lunches Monday-Friday during extended school holidays (spring break, summer and Christmas break) and weekends. Each lunch costs approximately $0.75 and is made with love inside the kitchen of our host site, First UMC Rosenberg. Many children living in families facing food insecurity rely on school lunch as their only meal of the day. Lunches of Love is here to help fill the gap during extended school holidays (spring break, summer vacation, Thanksgiving and Christmas break) and weekends.
Lunches of Love was launched during Christmas break 2009 and has quickly expanded during that time, growing from initially feeding 150 children each day to serving approximately 4,000+ children each day during summer 2017 with the help of 5,873 volunteers. In addition, LoL added our Weekend Edition in Fall 2011. The weekend care packages include child-friendly, vitamin fortified food for chronically hungry children.
LoL how has two host sites packing weekend care packages and delivering to LCISD and FBISD (The Harvest UMC).

Founder of Sienna Scoop – a community blog. A wife, mom, and a business owner. I was born in Houston, Texas and moved to Sugar Land, Texas when I was 12 years old. We moved to Missouri City, Texas from Sugar Land, Texas in 2009, primarily to be closer to family and instantly loved our new neighborhood. We love living in this community, it’s like living in a small town. One of my favorite things to do is DIY and crafting projects, for me, this is how I relax from the day to day grind.
