The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Students of the Year is an exciting leadership development and philanthropy program in which high school students participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS.
Every dollar raised counts as one vote. The candidates/teams who raise the most money at the end of the 7 week competition earn the title Student(s) of the Year.
For motivated high school students, this program ensures they stand out among their peers when engaging with colleges and/or future employers. Through guidance and mentoring from experienced professionals at LLS they will make a real impact in the fight against blood cancers.
Alexis Paget, a Sienna Plantation Resident and Ridgepoint High School Junior, is nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2018 Students of the Year Campaign.
“Driven by the sadness in my heart of losing my grandfather
“Bobpa” from Acute Myeloid Leukemia, I have always searched for a meaningful way to turn our tragic loss into triumph by honoring his memory. Even though my ti
me with him was cut short, his impact on my life was one I will never forget. When my mom came to me and asked me if I’d like to take on this special campaign, I had no hesitation. My grandfather’s presence remains with me in every aspect of my life and this is finally how, I too, could honor him in the way in which he deserves.
Please help Team Crush to honor my grandfather’s memory and the countles individuals that have been affected by blood cancers by making a donation to my fundraising campaign.” ~Alexis
