Pinch, Peel, Eat, and Repeat – A List of Where to Eat Crawfish

Some people call them crayfish, crawdads, or mudbugs, but I call them CRAWFISH.   What do you call these beady-eyed Cajun crustaceans?

I have not always liked crawfish.  I did not understand why people loved them so much; peeling these bugs and getting their hands dirty only to get a little piece of meat – seemed like a waste of time.  I honestly thought it was disgusting.  However, in 2011 everything changed!  We had a block party/crawfish boil, my friend dared me to try one – after kicking and screaming she pretty much shoved it in my mouth and I said, “that was good, give me another one”!  I can now say I LOVE crawfish, but not only because it is yummy but because it brings people together, forces us to slow down, eat, and enjoy the company of our friends and family. I refer to it as a social food.

Crawfish season here in Texas runs from mid-January through June, with the peak months being March, April, and May.  Missouri City and surrounding areas have some great places to get your crawfish fix, both Cajun-influenced and unique Vietnamese-style.

Are ready to pinch, peel, eat, and get your hands dirty with some spicy and juicy crawfish?  Here is a list of some great places.  If your favorite crawfish spot was left off the list, feel free to leave the info in the comments.
