SweetNes Honey Jalapeno’ & Cheese Cornbread

Are you a carb lover? I am. I would have to say bread and butter is my weakness, I mean serious WEAKNESS.

Cornbread is a little piece of golden heaven. Especially this time of year with the cooler weather we eat a lot of chili, stews, and soups.

I am sharing with you a delicious Jalapeno’ and Cheese Cornbread recipe from Danessa at SweetNes Honey.

SweetNes Honey Japapeno’ & Cheese Cornbread

  • 1 cup Yellow Cornmeal
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tbsp SweetNes Honey
  • 1 cup Milk
  • ¼ cup Vegetable Oil
  • ¼ cup Chopped Jalapenos
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ cup Diced Velvetta Cheese
  • ¼ cup Shredded Cheese


  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease baking pan or spray with cooking spray, and set pan aside.
  • In a large bowl add dry ingredients {cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt}. Mix until combined.
  • Add milk, egg, and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients. Beat until smooth.
  • Mix in SweetNes Honey, add diced velvetta cheese and jalapenos.
  • Pour batter into the prepared baking pan. Drizzle more SweetNes honey on top and sprinkle the shredded cheese. Bake for 20-23 minutes, or until lightly golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
